[arch-general] Unresponsive maintainer

Hi all! There is a maintainer, who has lots of out-of-date packages in the Extra repo: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/?packager=guillaume Some of these packages were flagged out-of-date in 2017 (!). I've e-mailed the maintainer (to his address from PKGBUILD file), but there is no response for two weeks. I want one of his packages ( https://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/visualvm ) to be updated because an important bug was fixed in the upstream (I've already built this package, installed and tested locally with the newest upstream software version). What is the correct way to handle this situation? Redargs, Danila Kiver.

[arch-general] aur/solr: Unknown PGP key

Hello, when trying to install the solr package from aur, installation fails because of an unknown PGP key ("051A0FAF76BC6507", according to comment should be "Adrien Grand (CODE SIGNING KEY) <jpountz(a)apache.org>"). Was this key removed from database for any reason, or did it just change? Or does the package have security issues, and I shouldn't install it? Kind regards Peter

[arch-general] Question about using an efi partition

Hi all, Last night I was reading in the arch wiki about creating an efi partition for arch Linux and I had a question. Is this esp partition the same as say a boot partition that is used in bios? Meening do I need to have an extra partition for a boot partition or is this efi partition used as the boot partition. I did not see anything regarding this in the wiki so thought I would ask here. [arch-general] Possible to "inherit" from a package?

Hello, it seems, Dovecot is built without Solr support. Just to add a build option, I wonder if there's a concept of "inheriting" from a package build, so I'd only add the config option? Kind regards Peter

[arch-general] Password managers implementing org.freedesktop.secrets?

Hello, the only password managers I found documented to implement org.freedesktop.secrets are kwallet and gnome-keyring. Does somebody know any others, probably GTK-based? I'm using XFCE4, so I'd like to install an alternative application, if possible. Kind regards Peter

I think you received the new stick with the Sony CXD2837: Only one frontend was found. A kernel patch is needed: seeAuzeuner DVB-T2 (Astrometa 2018) driver update #567 https://github.com/torvalds/linux/pull/567/commits/24ab0be682b16911efcbac27… I have one of those running since yesterday with good results with DVB-T2.

[arch-general] WIN+anything key not working at startup

Hi Every time I start my computer, plasma does not properly detect/respond to global hotkeys, in particular, WIN+anything combination. After I open a terminal from inside plasma, kill the kglobalaccel5 program and launch it again, all the WIN+ hotkeys work again. During the time that it is not working and whilst the cursor is stood in a shell window, pressing the hotkey WIN+r generates the keypresses sr Has anyone seen this behaviour before and know of a durable fix short of scripting plasma startup with a delayed kill+restart of kglobalaccel5?
