Hi Arch community, Arch Linux (archboot creation tool) 2008.10, "Nepal" has been released. http://downloads.archlinux.de/iso/2008.10-archboot/ This is just a test run if the image files are ok, please give me feedback. [arch-general] Problem with loading modules in 2.6.27

Hello, I have noticed a strange pause after either loading modules or loading standard ACPI modules. It started happening after I upgraded to 2.6.27. When I hit enter, the boot continues normally. It does not happen everytime but 1 in 3 boots, it "hangs". My rc.conf is configured to load following modules forcedeth ath_hal ath_pci wlan snd-mixer-oss snd-pcm-oss snd-hwdep snd-page- alloc snd-pcm snd-timer snd snd-hda-intel soundcore processor thermal cpufreq_ondemand cpufreq_powersave powernow-k8 k8temp Standard ACPI modules are "ac battery button fan processor thermal", according to /etc/rc.sysinit. These two arrays have duplicates but modprobe should handle that right? Any help in debugging this problem is appreciated. -- Shridhar

I've tested the public part of the website and found no breakage, good job! I just wanted to point the fact that archlinuxfr.org, where I was an admin, won't be updated anymore (source : http://forums.archlinuxfr.org/viewtopic.php?id=1818) so it can be removed from this page : http://pub.playground.archlinux.ca/moreforums/. It means there's only one french community website now (archlinux.fr). That should make it easier for new french Archers to find their way. -- catwell

Hey guys...I'm trying to setup a mailing list on the new arch server I got, but I've been having a lot of trouble. Finally, I got to here: http://lists.twilightlair.net/mailman/listinfo/arch-games but I don't think it's able to send/receive mails, and I really don't know how to proceed. Has anyone here setup mailing lists before give us a bit of a hand?
