Hello, according to the recent proposal (see http://www.archlinux.org/pipermail/aur-general/2008-December/003207.html) there should not be packages added to community with less than 10 votes or less than 1% in pkgstats. The new package moreutils violates this. So what is to do now? Regards

Comments seem to get burried, or forgotten. Most people prefer commenting for many reasons. I apologise in advance, cause i will make 15-20 additional reports tomorrow. :) PS. Is there any chance to get lists like that in the newsletter for example? I think it would be cool to notify people like that say once a month, and the newsletter draws attention of many people. -- Greg

pkg "google-desktop" (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=14198) out of date, there's last version as "google-desktop-1.2" (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=24040) pls, remove first, and i rename pkg google-desktop-1.2 to "google-desktop" -- -. .. -.-. -.- ..-. ----- -..-

Thanks for making me subscribe again to this list. I missed all those package removal requests that accompanied my Sunday morning coffee for a while. moreutils-svn was part of community before. Sergej just replaced it with the stable version cause of http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/13468 So stop attacking him! :P -- Greg

[aur-general] I can't update or upload packages in AUR

Hello, I have a problem, when i try to upload any package in AUR here: http://aur.archlinux.org/pkgsubmit.php uploading ends (after ~1 min) by just a blank page. It's AUR bug? I can't update my package about 3 days. I can't upload a new package either. I adopt pcsx-df package, and the sources links in the PKBUILD its broken. [aur-general] catalyst-beta removed/take care of illegal stuff!

Today I asked Allan to remove 2 packages from AUR: catalyst-beta and catalyst-utils-beta. I know the situation of the catalyst driver packages isn't in the best state. But breaking laws and license agreements can't solve this in a proper way and we cannot allow to host this on our servers. All members of the AMD/Ati beta project have to sign briefly an agreement to not publish any online location where to get the source, not publish any issues and errors that come up and they even aren't allowed to publish anything about performance changes. Of cause you aren't allowed to give any 3rd person the beta installer directly. The packages in AUR had links to leaked sources directly included. All I know this is also breaking their licenses. That's why we removed these packages. TUs: Please have a look at what comes up in AUR and ask if you find something you are not sure if it allowed to be there. @all: don't blame me for taking you that possibility from you. Go and send a nice thanks to AMD for not doing public beta tests. We - the dev team will soon have to decide about future handling of the stable but almost always broken situation of AMD drivers. -AndyRTR
